The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a fun and exciting place to be if you’ve read the books or seen the movies. But what about folks who are strolling through the area who have done neither of those? The area can still be a lot of fun, but a lot of it won’t make sense because they haven’t read the books or seen the movies. They’ll notice a few things that might seem odd to them, but they’ll pass by others because they have no idea what they are.
Over the next several months, Universal Orlando will be sharing photos with us so we may share them with you. These photos will give you a closer look inside the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and they will hopefully explain some of the things in the area to those who haven’t had the chance to read the books or see the movies.
Pictured above is something you’ll come across if you wait in the regular queue line of Forbidden Journey. These are known as the “house points” that are mentioned in several of the books and movies. When a student does something good, such as successfully performing a spell for the first time, or something bad like rule-breaking, they can earn or loose points for their house. At the end of the school year, the house with the most points wins the house cup.
The different colors represent one of the four houses at Hogwarts. Green represents Slytherin, red represents Gryffindor, yellow represents Hufflepuff, and finally, blue represents Ravenclaw. As you can see in the photo to above, Gryffindor is currently in the lead!
