The most wonderful time of the year isn’t filled with sparkling lights, snow angels and singing chipmunks for some people. For those wonderful well adjusted freaks (like me) the most wonderful time of the year is filled with chainsaws, killer clowns, ghosts, goblins and blood…oh yes…there will be blood. Starting September 23rd, the most wonderful time of the year begins for all of us haunt freaks.
With that in mind, we have a list of our “Must See” Haunts for 2011. These haunts range from the big haunt events such as Halloween Horror Nights all the way to the home haunts and haunts that you might find off the eaten beaten path.
Dark Harbor
The Queen Mary is a floating museum and hotel in Long Beach California. It’s a historical site, as the ship was once a trans-Atlantic ocean liner that steamed it’s way around the world. It held the likes of Fred Astaire, presidents, and more. Today it’s a hotel and tourist attraction in California, but in 2010 it became a dark and sinister place. 2011 the tradition continues with Dark Harbor, a haunted event that pits you against five mazes. The event boasts three on ship mazes, and two onshore mazes, featuring monsters and flames! The event will also have live bands and more.

Scarehouse
Located in downtown Pittsburgh, The Scarehouse is consistently rated as one of the top haunted attractions in the U.S. Three houses make up the madness this year with the all new “Pittsburgh Zombies” the 3D dance party “Delirium 3D” and the demented carnival folk of “The Forsaken”. Gore, scares and in your face zombies that you don’t want to miss. Check out the official website for more information and tickets.
Spooky Empire
The biggest haunt convention in the South East brings you more celebrity guests, more independent films, and more gore than any other haunted attraction out there. In it’s 9th year it shows no signs of slowing with guests ranging from the entire cast of “Killer Klownz From Outer Space” to horror mega author Clive Barker and of course legendary Malcolm McDowell.

Horror Weekend
For those who can’t make it to the forsaken land of Florida, this haunted convention will give you ample doses of gore, guts and celebrities who have made your skin crawl for decades. This year’s guests include David Naughton, Sid Heig, and Diamond Dallas Page…plus many many many more.

This haunt, among many others, proves that Pennsylvania is just full of messed up people! Three attractions aimed at making you wet yourself.
