Cool weather is beginning to set in, and there’s no better way to warm hearts and souls than with a chili and chowder cook off at Morey’s Piers. The competition is set to take place on October 9th at Morey’s Piers where chefs, restaurants, and individuals can compete to be named “best of” in their category. The competition is set to kick off at 11am.
Those interested in registering to compete the competition can register in three different categories: Individual, Professional (caterers and restaurants), or Corporate/Media. Teams who enter the competition will receive a 2-dall day, unlimited ride pass. Winners in each division (total of 10 awards) will be awarded plaques. Registeration costs begin at $50 for individual entrants. The registration deadline is Saturday, October 1, so be sure to register soon (click here to register).
Morey’s Piers is also offering public taste-testing beginning at 1pm. Tasting kits are $8 for season pass holders and $10 for non-pass holders. Tasting kits include five taste tickets, tasting cups, and a “guest choice ballet”.
“Our West Coast friends over at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk have two great cook off events each year so we decided to bring the idea to the best boardwalk on the East Coast,” said Kristel Jenkins, Events and Entertainment Manager. “What better way to end a season and welcome winter than with a hot bowl of chili or chowder?”
