The Superbowl is quickly coming up and everyone is hustling to get snacks and ingredients to cook up a storm for their Superbowl party. If you love the parks as much as I do, you probably want to force feed it to all your friends because theme parks are much more awesome the real life, right (and certainly more awesome than football)? Well, there is a way you can force feed them theme park goodness without telling them: theme park inspired recipes! Yeah, these aren’t exact, but these are inspired (meaning we made them up).
Mummy Dogs
These are super easy to make and kids love them. You will need: hot dogs (preferably fat hot dogs, not the skinny ones), shredded cheese, biscuits.
- Take the hot dogs and cut them down the center, but do not cut them in half! The slice should be big enough to stuff the hog dog.
- Stuff the hot dog with cheese.
- Wrap the hot dogs with biscuits, but don’t cover them completely like a corn dog. You’ll want to be able to see some of the hot dog or else it won’t cook right.
- Put them in the oven on a baking sheet and let them cook until the biscuits brown (check your biscuit can for an estimated time).
These go great with anything that’s good on a hot dog!
Revenge of the Mummy Dogs
These aren’t your typical roller-coaster hot dogs. They are almost like Mummy dogs, except there’s one minor alteration and a lot of payback. You will need: hot dogs (preferably fat hot dogs, not the skinny ones), shredded cheese, biscuits, and bacon.
- Take the hot dogs and cut them down the center, but do not cut them in half! The slice should be big enough to stuff the hog dog.
- Stuff the hot dog with cheese.
- Cook bacon and wrap the hot dog with whole pieces of bacon.
- Wait for tomorrow. That’s when the revenge comes!
Pumpkin Juice
If you love the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you’ve probably tried Pumpkin Juice. We made our own home made recipe for it. While it’s not the exact thing, it is quite close to the actual taste. Watch the video below on how to make this recipe.
Spiced Butterbeer (21+ only)
- 1 Cup of Butterscoth Schnapps
- 7 Cups Cream Soda
Buffalo-style Blue Man Dip
This one is a lot of fun! It’s kind of a strech, but you’re going to need some dipping sauce for those Doritos you bought. This is really good and works great on sandwiches too, but we think it would be more fun for this occasion as a dipping sauce. You’ll need: Ranch or Bluecheese dressing, 1 Pound of roasted shredded chicken, 8 oz cream cheese, 1 cup Franks Red Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce, Blue Food Coloring.
- Heat oven to 350 degrees
- Stir cream cheese until smooth
- Add ranch/blue cheese dressing and hot sauce to cream cheese
- Grind/Shred chicken up, then stir chicken in
- Bake for 20-25 minutes
- Add blue food coloring and stir until completely blue
- Take Oreo Cookie pie crust and fill it with vanilla ice cream
- Add whip cream to the top
- Drizzle chocolate sauce over the top
- Freeze
Dole Whip Smoothie
I’m sure it’s not as good as the real deal at Disney, but you can share this home made version with your friends. You’ll need: pineapple sherbet, vanilla ice cream, 1/2 cup heavy cream.
- Mix pineapple sherbet (substitute 1 cup of pineapple juice if you prefer) and vanilla ice cream in blender with 1/2 cup heavy cream.
- Blend until smooth
World Showcase Platter
You’ll need something to represent each country at Epcot. You can trade items in and out, but here’s our suggestions:
- Japan – Sushi
- Germany – Bratwurst
- China – Egg Rolls
- France – Small-portioned crepes
- Britain – Fish & Chips
- Norway – Lefse (Potato Bread)
- Canada - Canadian Bacon (Sorry, we really don’t know you too well, Canada)
- Mexico – Mini Tacos
- Italy – Pizza rolls (But only because Pizza doesn’t fit on a platter very well)
- Morocco – Cous Cous
Yes, we realize that we could go into very intricate details, but who wants to create a huge meal for each and every country? This will give your party peeps just a taste of each country. Keep in mind, you can substitute something else in if you don’t like our suggestions.
Hope everyone enjoys the Superbowl. Now get cookin! Oh, don’t forget the beer!
