We love theme parks because…

It’s pretty obvious that we all have a passion for theme parks here at Behind the Thrills, or else this website wouldn’t exist. This isn’t our full time job and we all have lives outside of this website. Our fourth birthday was this week and it’s a pretty huge milestone! In honor of our fourth birthday, we’d like to extend our thanks to everyone who works hard to bring this website together and provide as much information about the parks as possible by highlighting the folks behind the scenes.

Alyssa

My name is Alyssa Schipani and I like amusement parks for numerous reasons. First and foremost, they allow me to escape from the stress of daily life. There’s nothing like riding the Top Thrill Dragster after a hectic work week of deadlines! My boyfriend is also a huge coaster junkie, so an amusement park is the perfect destination to “getaway” and enjoy each other’s company. Furthermore, I get to be outside all day and love the exercise of walking around the parks!

Dan

My name is @DanHower and I love amusement parks for the pure adrenaline rush that sets your mind totally free!

Erik

I love theme parks because I can escape from reality. Inside the parks, I’m free to have fun and be myself without having to worry about all the crap going on within my life.

Greg

My name is Greg and I like theme parks because of the feeling of stepping into any movie or world I want to be in.

Joey

I love the sense of stepping into another (sometimes magical) world.

Keeper

I love theme parks because they can take me to a different world. A world where dragons soar, where pirates sail, where dinosaurs roam, where legends of the silver screen live..a happy place where I can forget the troubles of life for a short time. A place that stimulates my creative side and, for a moment, makes me feel that ANYTHING …and any adventure, is possible.

Kyle

I love theme parks because they’ve always been a part of my life. Growing up just moments from The Disneyland Resort, my family has been heavily influenced by those parks. My grandfather worked on the original Submarine Voyage attraction 1959, and my other grandparents (opposite side of my family) owned a small Mexican restaurant in Anaheim that Walt himself would enjoy. They offer escapism and sheer entertainment experience that cannot be rivaled by any other form of media. The sheer amount of creativity, artistry, and engineering is overlooked by 98% of the theme park tourists. I like to stop and remind people that these places don’t appear out of nowhere, they are living, and ever-evolving works of art.

LC Hill

I love theme parks because of the atmosphere and the rides at the differnt parks. When I visit Walt Disney World, I feel like I’m right at home. Also, I have requested Erik and Racheal do not post a photo of the photographer, only the theme parks!

Racheal

I love theme parks because I was practically raised in one. I was born and raised near Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Williamsburg, Virginia. I have a lot of fond memories of visiting the park when I was younger. As I’ve become an adult, I love to try different alcoholic beverages within the parks and to see the new and innovative technology.
