It’s been one for the record books, but this weekend SeaWorld Orlando concludes their Bands, Brew & BBQ event with two more country legends. In addition, the park will continue their tradition of mouthwatering bbq and beer samplers.
Saturday March 8th, Bocephus himself, Hank Williams Jr. will bring his rowdy friends for a huge concert at Bayside Stadium. It will be interesting to see what the very outspoken, controversial artist has to say about SeaWorld when he takes the stage.
The gig at SeaWorld comes as a bit of a shock for some as Blackfish supporters claimed that Hank Williams Jr. Managers confirmed that Bocephus would NOT be performing at SeaWorld.
That most certainly isn’t the case, as Williams will be performing at Bayside Stadium this Saturday. In fact, we could no find no record of the management or Hank Williams Jr publicly making the statement. The only thing found were Facebook posts from the groups themselves.
On Sunday March 9th, Alabama will wrap up the final concert of Bands, Brew&BBQ at SeaWorld Orlando for the year. This has been one controversial year for SeaWorld as thousands of protesters have been relentless in trying to keep artists from performing. Late last year SeaWorld had several bands cancel after supporters of the film Blackfish petitioned bands to pull out. Several bands such as Willie Nelson, Barenaked Ladies and Heart canceled, citing SeaWorld’s mistreatment of animals as the reason. Meanwhile, Heart recently played the San Antonio Rodeo. Of course Willie Nelson is also no stranger to rodeos and fairs. While the controversy rages on, the protesters have done nothing to sway signed bands, nor keep audiences away. Every weekend of the event SeaWorld has been at or near capacity, with concerts reaching capacity.
Bands Brew ends this weekend but concerts continue, however with “Just for Kids” in a few weeks and Viva La Musica later this year.
