Disney’s Animal Kingdom has always been the sleepy little park that you could do in a morning, right before you hit the Magic Kingdom. This weekend that changes as the park rolls into the night with tons of new offerings, and a look at the park like you’ve never seen it before. During the recent Cast Member Previews, Cast and their families had the chance to preview most of these changes. They all officially start today, Friday May 27th with more rolling out this summer.

One of the highlights is the Harimbi Party. It’s an open air party with a distinctively African twist. You’ll get to see dancers, bands, stiltwalkers and much more.

As the day slips into night, one thing that will not change is how everyone will gather in front of the Tree of Life. The iconic park centerpiece will come to life several times each night, each time with a different vision of the tree. The lights and colors of the tree are absolutely stunning, and make the entire park pop.

The rest of the park is also an amazing wonder at night, as the rides have new life brought into them. Everest at night is described as “a religious experience”. The nighttime safari also brings an unexpected twist to the normally popular attraction.
