Han Solo movie officially begins production

StarWars.com has announced the official launch of the untitled Han Solo film. The site also released an official picture of the cast, as they cram into the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon. Filming officially began on February 20th.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are directors co-piloting the movie, with a cast that includes Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke,  Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca.
“Watching such inspired people from all over the world, with such unique voices, come together for the sole purpose of making art, is nothing short of miraculous,” Lord and Miller said. “We can’t think of anything funny to say, because we just feel really moved, and really lucky.”

The new film will hit theaters on May 25th 2018, and will mark a return to the May film schedule since the new films have begun. The Han Solo film follows in the footsteps of the wildly successful Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The next film in the Saga trilogy will be this years Star Wars:The Last Jedi. That film stars Mark Hamill, Daisy  Ridley and John Boyega. It’s also the last Star Wars movie that the Kate Carrie Fisher filmed. That film hits theaters this December.
