Universal Orlando raises ticket prices

Just as predicted, Universal Orlando has raised their ticket prices barely a week after Walt Disney World. The prices went up Friday morning, after Disney’s ticket prices jumped up on Sunday.
A single day, single park ticket has gone up $5 dollars from $105 to $110. Park to park tickets for a single day have gone up $10 dollars from $155 to $165. That is for the current season. Last year, Universal Orlando introduced a sliding tier ticket system. Ticket prices will be more during busier, or peak times of the year. Now a one day, one park ticket will cost $124, and a two park ticket will cost $179during peak   season.

Annual pass prices have not gone up yet, but there’s a strong chance they could in the coming months, as Universal Orlando is set to open a third park with Volcano Bay.

Tickets for that park are currently on sale, but you can only purchase tickets as part of a three day ticket. Tickets that include Volcano Bay start at about $220.

Rumors are starting to circulate that because of this move, Universal may not offer a one day ticket to Volcano Bay, at least for the first few months. There’s also rumor that a new annual pass tier will be introduced that will include the new Volcano Bay park. We don’t know it for sure, but it’s quite possible that current annual passholders will not get Volcano Bay included with their annual passes.

On the discount side, Universal offers tons of discounts for purchasing online, as well as discounts for multiple days and Florida residents. Universal is also offering a two day two park ticket, with two days free for about $235. The deal gets you four days within a consecutive 7 day period.

While one day tickets are certainly continuing to go up in price, the real value lies with the multi day tickets, and of course the annual passes.

This is the first ticket increase of 2017. Typically tickets increase twice a year, with the second being in the fall before the busy holiday season.
