Voodoo Doughnuts Soft-Opens at Universal Hollywood’s CityWalk!

CityWalk at Universal Studios Hollywood is undergoing a massive renovation that is adding new flavors and unique twists to the Southern California hotspot. We’ve seen new venues come in over the past few months, as well as a complete overhaul to the CityWalk theater. Now Universal is using the power of Voodoo.

The first ever California location for the world famous Voodoo Doughnuts has opened at Universal Hollywood, and it’s a trip to doughnut heaven for anyone who lives doughnuts.

Also located inside the shop is another world famous brand, Stumptown Coffee.

The menu is simple, doughnuts, crullers, fritters and even a little ice cream. The shop is in soft open in CityWalk all day and makes for a great stop both on the way to the park, and heading out…or if you just want some really kick ass doughnuts. The shop specializes in unique doughnuts, such as the Captain, My Captain, and the No Name Doughnut.

Inside the shop is a cool collection of curios, and pictures. The real feature here are the doughnuts and the Stumptown Coffee. Both Voodoo Doughnuts and Stumptown Coffee originate in Oregon. Both have developed wildly crazy followings, with lines at both shops reaching several hours.

The line at Universal Hollywood’s CityWalk reached a pretty good distance after opening on Saturday morning. Once word gets out about Voodoo Doughnuts, we would not be surprised to see this happen on a regular basis, if not daily. After all, it’s not uncommon for most Voodoo locations to have 1-2 hour waits. They’re just that good.

The range of flavors at Voodoo is amazing, with recipes that you just can’t find anywhere else. choices are limited. Voodoo Doughnuts is now in soft open phase at Universal Studios Hollywood’s CityWalk, and is the latest in the huge CityWalk line up. It’s best to know that the location is still in soft-open (yes even donut shops need technical rehearsals) and is not a regularly opened venue just yet, no official opening date has been announced.

Later this year, guests will be able to experience Margaritaville, Mechies Frozen Yogurt and many others as CityWalk continues its evolution.

Special thanks to Eric Oh at USH Today for the pictures and report.
