Disneyland has recently made the announcement via the Disney Parks Blog that classic Space Mountain will be returning at long last!
For those who are unfamiliar with Space Mountain’s current situation at Disneyland, here is the low-down. Since it was announced at D23 2015, the attraction has been running with the Hyperspace Mountain overlay as part of the Season of the Force promotion. It was of course much more popular than initially expected so the attraction remained Star Wars themed for just under 2 years. Every Halloween the Ghost Galaxy overlay would replace it and the Star Wars overlay would quickly return to it’s temp Star Wars theme.
This announcement is very exciting for fans of the 2005 version of Space Mountain as that is what will be returning to the park on June 1 with the iconic Michael Giacchion rendition of the attraction’s theme. No major changes or additions are expected, other than minor touch ups here and there. We cannot wait for this classic version to return! Are you looking forward to the classic ride returning?
