Saw sequel Jigsaw gets first look-Could we see a Halloween Horror Nights House?

Do you want to play a game? The eighth entry into the SAW franchise hits theaters this October, after seven years of absence. This week, Entertainment Weekly gets a first look at the new film, in a picture from the movie. The movie is  being directed by Peter and Michael Spierig, who brought the vampire gorefest, Daybreakers to life.

The first look picture seems to show a hapless victim in a Jigsaw-like trap. Not a lot is known about the film, which was shot secretly last fall. There’s not even any word if SAW series star, Tobin Bell will somehow make a return to the series, or if this will be the start of a new killer taking over for John Kramer.

Tobin Bell will be at San Diego Comic Con next weekend, where he will be signing autographs. Lionsgate will also be making a huge presentation with their upcoming slate, so it’s likely that we’ll get the first trailer for the film next Saturday.

But will we get more? There’s been rumors floating around that the SAW franchise will also be returning to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood this year. In the past, Universal has used Comic Con as a platform to announce upcoming haunted mazes based on popular films that have been revealed and shown at SDCC.

In 2012 Universal attended SDCC to announce that Silent Hill was coming to the parks. In 2013 it was for Evil Dead, in 2014 The Walking Dead, and in 2015 Criimson Peak was announced after the trailer premiered.
There’s a good chance that if there’s going to be a maze based on the revamped version of SAW, it’s going to be announced at SDCC. After all, Tobin Bell is going to be there, and as the tagline used to say, “If it’s Halloween, it must be Saw”.

We’ll just have to wait and see!
