Special tickets and fundraisers allow guests help Kings Dominion find the cure

Kings Dominion is turning “pink” starting in August as they are teaming up with the  Central Virginia Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for Kings Dominion for the Cure 2012. The Virginia theme park is joining the Susan G. Komen in the worldwide fight against breast cancer. The park plans on bringing awareness and raising money for the cause in ways only Kings Dominion can.

From now until September 3rd, Kings Dominion will offer special “Pink Day” tickets for just $39.99 for guests. $1 dollar of each ticket sold will benefit the Central Virginia Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. In addition guests will be able to purchase special pink Snoopy’s at the front gate. Once purchased, guests will be encouraged to toss their pink Snoopy into the Kings Dominion fountain on International Street in honor of a life touched by cancer. There will also be several other items on sale for guests to purchase, including Kings Dominion for the Cure t-shirts. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Central Virginia Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The park will also be transforming International Street into Pink Street, replacing the International flags with pink flags and will also erect four survivor walls. The walls will feature stories from real cancer survivors, in the hope of inspiring those with cancer to keep up the fight.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure has been the global leader of the breast cancer movement since it’s start in 1982. The organization has invested over $1.9 billion in the fight against cancer.
