Horror Unearthed: Deciphering the games

Horror Unearthed is an interactive game for Halloween Horror Nights 22. The game features two different types of interactivity: online and in-park. Fans of the event can play games at home online, and when they come to the park, they can continue to play and get points using their RFID card. In this guide, we will break down each section of the game. Due to the length of the article, I have broken things up into different sections, so to learn more about that section, click the drop down and it will display more information.

Before you can play, you have to sign up for an account. Don’t worry – this is all totally free. To sign up and play, visit http://hhn22experience.com.

Once you have logged in, you will notice several tabs at the bottom of the page.

Inner Chamber

October 9:

A new game has been added: The Kerezan game. Check out below for more information on the game.

October 2:

A new game has been added: The Morphan game. Check out below for more information on the game.

This is where you select which game you want to play. In order from top left to right, bottom left to right is: Baccanoid, Blank, Cerebin, Strengoit, Morphan, Blank.

Strengoit Game

There are six coffins, and you have to open them up to find an empty one before the sun rises. You only have three chances so pick wisely. There doesn’t seem to be a specific way to play this game.

Tips:

  • Pick the same three coffins each time
  • Play on http://hhn22experience.com so if you lose, you can quickly refresh (it saves a bit of time)

Cerebin Game

There are three caged animals and you have to lock the cages before they can get out. There are 5 keys, but only 3 work. It doesn’t seem like there is a specific way to play this.. it’s all just in luck. I personally find this game to be very difficult.

Fans have pointed out there may be a reference to Jack the Clown in this game in the top right corner (the ferris wheel).

Tips:

  • Use the same pattern each time. I start with key 1 on cage 1, then key 2 on the same cage, ect.
  • Play on http://hhn22experience.com so if you lose, you can quickly refresh (it saves a bit of time)
  • Have patience!

Baccanoid Game

This is probably the easiest game. It’s simple – you have six different symbols you need to match up with the same symbol. The quicker you are, the more life force you get.

Morphan Game

This game isn’t too hard as you have a 75% chance of winning. Pick masks and uncover those who are long dead (skulls), uncover two zombies and it’s game over.

This is what you want to uncover when you select a mask.

Get two of these guys and it’s game over.

Tips:

Kerezan Game
This is a “survival” mode game. You have to survive for a minimum amount of time before you win. The longer you play, the better you score.

Shadowy creatures will walk out of the three tombs. You have to kill them with your bow and arrow, but be warned: they have to be close enough or you will miss!

Tips:

  • Don’t let the creatures get too close because your bow takes time to recharge
  • Don’t freak out
  • Try and play as long as you can

After you win each game, it will tell you how many life force you earn. The quicker and better you complete the game, the more life force you earn.

Tasks

[expand title=”Expand for more information”]

The tasks page has officially launched. On this page, it will give park goers a challenge. I’m not sure if this will change from night to night, as this is the first evening the page has been working, so stay tuned. If that’s the case, we’ll update you every single evening with the task.

Thursday, October 11:

The tasks page has been updated tonight, but the tasks remain the same.. However, the points have been doubled.

Thursday, October 4:

Tonight’s task is to visit House of Horrors, Alice Cooper, and AMC’s The Walking Dead in that order. The reward is 1,000 points. Last week’s task is also still in effect. Visit Silent Hill, Penn & Teller, Gothic, and Dead End in that order.

Sunday, September 30:

It appears the riddle for tonight’s task says you must visit Silent Hill, Penn & Teller, Gothic, and then Dead End in that order. If you do, you’ll gain 1,000 life force.

Friday, September 28:

Seems that the tasks page has been updated for the weekend.. but future tasks will come.

Thursday, September 27:

The left hand column provides information on the pass card registration booth. If you haven’t picked up your card yet, you can between the hours of 6pm until an hour before the park closes.

Tonight’s task seems fairly simple. I discovered the “7-in-1” badge the other day, which is possibly what this task is referring to. If you visit all houses in the same night, you’ll unlock that badge (see badges section below).
