In 2013, we saw wooden coasters do amazing new things, watched as giant robots battled across Orlando, pulled an all niter with Monsters, and walked with the dead, through cabins and woods and many other dark and demented places. With so many amazing things that happened in 2013 in the amusement industry, we are really excited for what 2014 brings. Before we finally close the book on 2013, however, we will pay tribute to the best Theme Parks in the amusement industry for 2013 – as voted by you!

No theme park is exactly like another. Every park offers something different than another, but they all offer something that is enjoyed by many: entertainment and thrills. Park of the Year is our largest category within Thrill Weekly Polls. It takes a total of five weeks to complete this poll. Because there are so many theme parks within the United States, we break the United States down into four different regions. The winner and runner up from each region moves onto the final round, leaving a total of only eight spots to compete for Park of the Year.

And the runner-ups for Park of the Year 2013 is as follows:

5. Universal Studios Florida-Florida

4. Cedar Point-Ohio

3. IdleWild&Soak Zone-Pennsylvania

2. Dollywood-Pigeon Forge-Tennessee

And the winner… Drum roll please?
