Universal Orlando’s Cabana Bay Beach Hotel to feature first ever Jack LaLanne fitness center

Jack LaLanne died when he was 96 years old. The day before he died, he completed his daily workout which was said to be about 90 minutes long. The man was a fitness legend, and was the name that most people thought of when they wanted to be fit and strong in the 50’s and 60’s. Universal Orlando’s Cabana Bay Beach is a tribute to that bygone era, and who better to model your fitness center after, than the man who created personal fitness, pretty much as we know it today.

Jack LaLanne Fitness Center

The Jack LaLanne Fitness Center is just another one of the many retro features coming to Cabana Bay Beach Hotel when it opens later this month. Jack LaLanne was a pioneer in fitness, and even hosted an iconic fitness show. The resort worked with his family to open what could be the first of many Jack LaLanne fitness centers. The center at Cabana Bay Beach will not only feature state of the art fitness equipment, but also memorabilia. From photos, artifacts and a full sized statue of LaLanne, the fitness center will be like a shrine to the man who believed that everyone’s body could be a temple.

“When you think of fitness during these iconic decades, Jack LaLanne just resonates in our minds,” said Russ Dagon, Vice President and Executive Project Director, Universal Creative.  “This partnership with the LaLanne family will complement the new property wonderfully, and we’re delighted that his name will live on here at Cabana Bay Beach Resort.”

On top of the fitness center, Cabana Bay Beach will feature a lazy river, huge pool and ten lane bowling alley, just to name a few. The hotel is expected to open on March 31st for the first guests, and will feature an introductory rate for the first few weeks of operation. The hotel will also give guests exclusive early access to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park, located right across the street.
