In just about a month we will get a look at the magic behind Diagon Alley, the all new addition to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando. While the rest of us wait, USA Today got an exclusive peek and walk around the new area with Thierry Coup and Chef Steve Jayson to see just what guests can expect when the all new area opens this summer.
The all new video is rich with new details, and it showcases the feel of the entire area. While Hogsmeade Village has a very small, and somewhat country feel to it, the look of Diagon Alley is just the opposite. Diagon Alley is nestled in the bustling magical side of London, and the Universal Orlando version certainly looks the part. Huge buildings leer overhead, and the look is definitely more industrial, and more city-like.
Hogsmeade had just a quaint village, while Diagon Alley looks very much the city, with huge ads and Wizard versions of billboards on the buildings. The detail, so far, looks amazing and we can’t wait to try the new ice cream flavors as well at Florean Fortesque’s.

What are you looking forward to most when Diagon Alley opens at Universal Studios Florida? Is it the many flavors of Ice Cream? The thrilling Escape from Gringotts? Maybe Weasley’s Wizarding Weezes? Diagon Alley promises to be the absolute biggest theme park attraction this year, and possibly ever! Check out USA Today for even more from Diagon Alley.
There is no opening date for Diagon Alley just yet, but there will be a media preview June 117th-20th. It stands to reason that we could see an opening date around then, or shortly after that.
