Busch Gardens Tampa offers sneak preview of Howl O Scream

Howl O Scream is breaking new boundaries this year with several new houses, and a new concept that no other theme park has done before in a house. They are taking guests to realms of horror with not only a brand new haunted house that you live out the tale, but also where you choose your fate. Howl O Scream opens September 26th, but we were able to get a look at their all new haunted house. The park also gave us a glimpse at what it’s like to shoot zombies, as we fight to contain them.

Howl O Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa is the first theme park haunted attraction to allow it’s guests to hunt zombies in a haunted house environment. The concept has been done on a smaller scale at stand alone haunted attractions, and will be done this year at Knott’s Scary Farm in a scare zone, but Howl O Scream is doing it first inside a house. The concept is intriguing as it confines guests to a set path where they have no clue what is going to happen.

We get our first glimpse, courtesy of Busch Gardens Tampa, of the way guests will be able to blast away zombies.

Zombie Containment Unit will have guests strap on laser blasters, and aim for targets on the zombies themselves. It looks like a walking version of a Sally Dark Ride Shooter. The guns even seem to make a really cool cartoonish gun sound effect. It’s Zombie hunting taken as serious as you need to take it.

Also new this year is Dead Fall. Like branches that fall off of trees, so to do the people at a greenhouse. Guests will get to walk through the greenhouse as ghosts remain.
We were able to get a sneak peek at the all new house, and walk through it…alone.
