According to Airgates, a fire has broken out at Alton Towers late Sunday. The reports say that the popular Forbidden Valley area of the park was closed and evacuated after a small fire broke out in a “Fish&Chips” restaurant.
The area was closed Sunday after smoke filled the area. The monorail, and other attractions were closed as a precaution.
The park released a statement about the incident Sunday.
We’ve had a small fire in the Fish & Chip restaurant kitchen. It was extinguished very quickly and we will re-open.
There were no reported injuries, and no major damage.
Alton Towers evacuated Air, The Blade, Ripsaw and Nemesis as a precaution, but those rides were not involved or affected by the fire.
Alton Towers is located in Staffordshire, England.
