In a bit of surprising news, Disney has announced that Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular’s long and cherished run will come to an abrupt end in January for an all new Frozen Musical spectacular set to debut in Summer of 2016.
The new show will take place at the Hyperion Theater located in the Hollywood Land section of the park and is expected to feature cutting edge theater and stage technology. Disney made the announcement today via the Disney Parks Blog.
Disney’s blockbuster musical “Frozen” has become a true phenomenon around the world and soon, the story of “Frozen” will come to spectacular life in an all-new theatrical production in summer 2016 at the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure park.
This new show will immerse you in the world of “Frozen” as never before, with elaborate costumes and sets, stunning special effects and surprising scenic transformations.

With a new show set to open at the Hyperion Theater, it’s time for Aladdin to make his final wish and set the Genie free, as the cast of the award-winning “Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular” prepares to take its final curtain call on January 10, 2016 after nearly 14,000 shows.
This is a bit of sad news for Disney die-hards as Aladdin has become a staple and tradition for many Disneyland Resort regulars who would come eager to find out just what Genie would say next.
Currently Disney California is host to ‘For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration’ which had replaced MuppetVision 3D. No plans have been announced as to if Muppet’s will return or if the Frozen Sing-Along will remain during the early run of the new musical. It will be exciting to see new development in the area of the park in the future. At Disneyland an intimate Frozen mini-show can be found at the Royal Theater in Fantasy Faire as well.
