Happy Medal Monday! Race season is in full swing and runDisney has officially released images of the medals for the upcoming 2019 Princess Half Marathon Weekend medals. Although the Princess medals typically looked pretty similar in years past, Disney has taken a new approach to medals. Similar to last year’s medals, each race has its own “theme” which is featured on the medal. This year features princesses such as Jasmine, Mulan, and more.
The Princess Half Marathon features a 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon. In addition to these races, runDisney also offers kids races with distances perfect for little ones. For runners seeking a challenge, runners can participate in the Disney Fairy Tale Challenge (which includes the 10k and Half Marathon).
The 5k kicks off the Princess Half Marathon Weekend with 3.1 miles through Epcot. The 5k medal features Elena of Avalor.
Following the 5k, the 10k will take runners on a 6.2 mile journey that begins and finishes at Epcot. Although race maps have yet to be released, runners will likely travel through Epcot and Boardwalk. The 10k medal features Mulan.
The last race of the weekend is the Princess Half Marathon featuring 13.1 magical miles. The Half Marathon will take runners on a magical journey from Epcot to Magic Kingdom and back. The Half Marathon Medal features Princess Aurora.
Runners who complete the Disney Fairy Tale Challenge will receive one additional medal after completing both the 10k and Half Marathon. Finally, the Challenge Medal features Princess Jasmine.
Registration for some of the races are still open. At the time of publishing this, registration remains open for the Princess Half Marathon and the Kids Races.
