We have yet to see any major details about the new Toy Story 4, but that’s changed today with the addition of a brand new character poster and a very quick character reveal.
Bo Peep is back, and she looks like she does more than just tend her sheep. She’s traded in her big puffy dress for a brand new look, and honestly looks like she’s ready to kick butt. In fact, she does with the help of a new character played by Keanu Reeves called Duke Kaboom, who comes from the place where discontinued toys are sent.
In a release, Disney did confirm that Bo is coming back:
This long-lost friend of Woody, Buzz and the gang always shared a special connection with Woody, but they have not seen each other in years, and Bo has become chipped and faded over time. Bo’s strength and sarcasm always belied her delicate porcelain exterior, and it turns out she’s an adventure-seeking free spirit who feels right at home on the road. When she and Woody are reunited under unlikely circumstances, they realize they’ve grown worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy.
The director, Josh Cooley, has said that Woody and Bo find themselves reuniting under unlikely circumstances, and that the two have completely grown apart. Woody was always watching Andy grow up, while Bo was collecting dust and fading.
You’ll probably need to bring a box of tissues if the story is anything like Toy Story 3, as this is said to be one final adventure. The film hits theaters on June 21st, 2019.
