John Ratzenberger’s Mack joins new Cars attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Being in every single Pixar film, John Ratzenberger is known as the company’s “lucky charm”. Now, his larger than life character “Mack”, the massive 18-wheeler will be a part of the new “Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy” when it debuts March 31st at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.

Not a whole lot is known about the new attraction, but the video does give us a little more a glimpse of what we might be able to expect.

The video shows new renderings of Lightning McQueen and Mater. While that’s not enough to give anything away, another image just might.

Another rendering shows off a huge auditorium, with a stage and Lightning McQueen in the center. The seats don’t look like they’re going to be connected to any kind of VR device, but the distinct feeling I’m getting here is the same as Turtle Talk with Crush.

It’s looking more like what we’ll see on the new Racing Academy is going to be a duplicate of Turtle Talk, where we will be able to interact with Lightning (or another character) as a figure, and will see animated interactions with characters like Mater.
We will find out for sure when the new attraction opens later this month!
