Thrill seekers – get ready for an amazing Summer as an all-new ride comes to SeaWorld San Diego and a newly-renovated fan favorite will be opening up very soon! Last week, SeaWorld announced that passholders would be able to ride Tidal Twister and Journey to Atlantis before the rides open to the general public. Tidal Twister officially opens on May 24th, and an opening date for Journey to Atlantis has not been announced yet.
Tidal Twister will soft open for passholders on May 21st through May 23rd from 1-5 pm. Guests must be 48″ or taller to experience Tidal Twister.
The park also provided a recent POV video, and while construction crews still have a lot of landscaping to do, it seems that the ride is significantly smoother than its prior prototypes, and multiple reports confirm that the ride is decently quiet, and will not be discernible to those watching Cirque Electrique this summer.
Journey to Atlantis
Journey to Atlantis closed down for renovations last Fall, and passholders will be the first ones to ride starting on May 30th and 31st, from 1-5 pm. Guests must be 42″ or taller to board Journey to Atlantis.
So far, the buildings have been repainted different shades of blue, and parts of track that were notorious for being rough have been redone to provide a more enjoyable experience. Although not much has been announced about the refurbishment, it will certainly be better than before!
