No deal for SeaWorld, according to a statement put out by the company. On February 1, 2022, Cedar Fair announced in a press release that it had received an unsolicited non-binding proposal from SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. The company announced that its board of directors would review and consider the proposal, but that was the only information publically given.
On February 15, SeaWorld released in a statement that a deal did not come to fruition. “In response to inquiries from various stakeholders, we confirm that our offer to acquire Cedar Fair was rejected. Unfortunately, we do not see a path to a transaction,” the press release read.
It looks like SeaWorld couldn’t seal the deal on this one.
