Ride: Stardust Racers at Universal Epic Universe Orlando, The Story, Height Requirement, and More.

In the heart of the all-new Epic Universe, a spectacle unlike any other awaits: Stardust Racers. This thrill ride is located in Celestial Park, and is the largest roller coaster at the park.

On the East edge of Celestial Park towers Stardust Racers, a dueling coaster where riders experience an intergalactic race. According to legend, the Celestians used to harness Comets to travel, but proven to be unreliable and with the discovery of portals to travel, the transportation method was no longer needed, and the transit station was useless.

Now the Celestians race Comets; it’s their pastime.

On Stardust Racers you start by entering this old terminal, much like a Subway station, which now serves as the start for your journey. Both trains (Comets) leave together and the race begins.

The adventure begins with Launch One. Riders head through a tunnel, where streaks of glowing stardust create the illusion of entering a hyperspace jump. A powerful thrust catapults riders forward. As the coasters race neck-and-neck, they crest over the first Top Hat, momentarily weightless before heading into a non-inverting dive loop. The track splits, sending each coaster to opposite sides before reuniting for the next stage of the cosmic competition. Criss-crossing and even meeting each other head-to-head.

As if one launch wasn’t enough, the ride powers up for Launch Two, a second propulsion that rockets riders into the exhilarating final stretch.

Then comes the most talked-about element: The Celestial Spin. This never-before-seen inversion twists both coasters into a synchronized ballet of gravity-defying rolls, flipping and intertwining in a breathtaking cosmic dance. This mind-bending moment is truly one-of-a-kind, thrilling both seasoned-coaster-enthusiasts and casual-riders alike.

From here, the ride delivers sweeping turns, airtime hills, and dueling near-miss moments where the two coaster trains appear to narrowly avoid colliding—only to swerve apart at the last second. The roller coaster delivers a high-speed helix that spirals downward before riders finally glide back to the station after one more high-five hill towards eachother.

Stardust Racers was voted Most Anticipated Roller Coaster for 2025!

Stardust Racers is Universal’s longest roller coaster ever, with a staggering track length of nearly 4,800 feet—just under a mile! Clocking in around 90 seconds long, the coaster’s dynamic layout is further enhanced by a stunning lighting package, designed to make it appear as though riders are streaking through the night sky like celestial comets. Unlike traditional coaster lighting, the track remains unlit, allowing the glowing ride vehicles to stand out against the darkened sky, creating an ethereal, otherworldly effect. Even guests watching from the sidelines will be mesmerized as the land around them reacts to the racing coasters, subtly illuminating with each passing comet.

No Universal attraction would be complete without an unforgettable soundtrack, and Stardust Racers is no exception. The entire ride is underscored by a custom-orchestrated musical composition, heightening every twist, turn, and launch. From the grand overture that greets guests in the queue – to the triumphant crescendo that propels them through the Celestial Spin, the music is an integral part of the experience, immersing riders even further into the cosmic spectacle.

Stardust Racers has a Height Requirement of 48″. Child Swap and lockers are available, with Child Swap offering incredible vantage points of the coaster—ideal for family members waiting their turn.

And for those debating the best seat on the ride? While coaster enthusiasts will love the back row for maximum airtime and intensity, the front row delivers unbeatable views, making it a must-try.

While much has been revealed about this groundbreaking coaster, one secret remains tucked away in the stars—an exclusive Easter egg that only the keenest riders will discover. It’s a hidden gem that pays homage to both Universal’s past and the magic of the cosmos, ensuring that every rider leaves with a sense of wonder and mystery.
