Busch Gardens Tampa is getting ready to celebrate their 60th anniversary in 2019. The park has already rolled out merchandise, and even more, as the park has rolled out the events list for 2019. The list is likely to be updated, but the big surprise is that there are a few extensions and submissions from the list that are surprising. However, first we’ll take a look at the merchandise, which as of right now is a little minimal.
The 60 year logo is pretty classy on the mugs, but the other stuff is pretty amazing as well.
The shirt logos are a definite throwback to the years when the park was Busch Gardens Africa. It uses the old logo and the animal silhouettes. We see that on a few t-shirts and a hoodie. We need to see that on a lot more stuff, including commemorative posters. Expect to see more merchandise with that 60 year logo as this year ends.
Speaking of next year, the park has released the schedule for most of their events. The old favorites are definitely there, but there’s two big exceptions to look at. The first is that Howl O Scream is being extended into November! We’re not sure how many more nights, but this year was great, expect 2019 to be even better with the event celebrating their 20th anniversary. We can probably expect “20 years of fear”. The other big thing to notice is that Bier Fest is gone from the line up. Will it be added later, or is it gone for good? the parks always seemed pretty packed on the days of Bier Fest, though the event was often rained out due to an overactive hurricane season.
We’ll have to wait and see on that one, but 2019 is shaping up to be massive with the opening of Tigris, and more coming to the park.
