Talk about wow. Just about a week ago, Escape from Pompeii at Busch Gardens Williamsburg was closed due to a fire, and the park had no idea when it would be reopened, saying that it was closed “indefinitely”, leading many (including ourselves) to doubt it would never open again.
Never say never, especially during the heat of summer.
A reader has sent in a picture of Pompeii back in action, which is good news. It’s a great way to beat the heat, and it’s really a classic…no matter how dated it may seem.
Talking to sources, the fix could be temporary and may need more extensive work during the fast approaching off season. At the same time, the damage must not have been that bad.
We’ll see what the off season holds and hopefully Pompeii gets a fresh look come 2019.
