Tron is coming to Magic Kingdom with an all new coaster. The new ride will open in time for the 50th anniversary in 2021, and will not replace the Tomorrowland Speedway. Instead, the new attraction will take riders behind Space Mountain and into an employee parking lot.
AT D23 EXPO 2017, DISNEY PARKS CHAIRMAN BOB CHAPEK ANNOUNCES NEW TRON-THEMED ATTRACTION COMING TO MAGIC KINGDOM PARK Ð Disney Parks Chairman Bob Chapek announces during D23 Expo the most popular attraction at Shanghai Disneyland is coming to Walt Disney World Resort. A thrilling, Tron-themed attraction will be added in a new area near Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom.
Concept art shows the ride taking place behind Space Mountain and around the train tracks. The ride will be very similar to the one at Shanghai Disneyland.
With any luck, we’ll see the lines for Space Mountain go down just a little once this new coaster opens! The new coaster will feature riders in a seated position on a cycle as they battle on the Grid.
