UNIVERSAL ORLANDO’S MARDI GRAS 2010 CELEBRATION
The Party Continues Saturday, March 6
WHAT: On March 6, Universal Orlando Mardi Gras guests can top off a day of New Orleans-style festivities with a live concert by hip-hop superstar Akon. Known as one of the most successful and versatile R&B artists of the 21st century, Akon is responsible for some of today’s hottest songs. In addition to performing hits such as, “Lonely,” “Smack That” and “Beautiful,” he is accredited with more than 300 guest appearances on songs by other artists, including Lady Gaga, T-Pain and Gwen Stefani. Akon has been nominated for six Grammy Awards during the course of his career and he earned an American Music Award in 2007 for “Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist.”

Universal Orlando is celebrating 15 years of beads, bands and good times with its Mardi Gras 2010 celebration. Guests will experience the spirit of Bourbon St. in the heart of Universal Studios, with festivities including an elaborate parade, hundreds of costumed characters, tons of souvenir beads, Cajun cuisine and live performances by mega-talented artists.
