I grew up Star Wars. LOVED IT! I loved Star Tours at Disney’s MGM Studios (now Hollywood Studios) the first couple of times. So when they announced that they were going to update it I was excited. Then they said it would be a “prequel”. Yeah, like so many others I wasn’t a huge fan of the prequels. I went to see them. I own them. But I don’t sit and do dirty things to frames of Padme like I do to Leia. No, this has made me less than thrilled. But today, something was released that made my nerd senses tingle.
A new Star Tours Vehicle, going through an asteroid field, being chased by BOBA MUTHA F*CKIN FETT!!!! I just soiled my Taun-tan! Another look has a half completed Death Star in the background, and even one more..we see Geonesis! While it’s not a new republic, it is a promising start. We get some continuity happening from the films to the ride. The ride will take place between the end of Episode 3 and the beginning of 4.
Now keep in mind that this is just concept art, and we have no clue what’s going to happen in the ride. This looks to be pretty promising. And if this is just one of several scenarios chosen by the guests, it makes you wonder who else we can expect to see of this badassitude!
We’ve already been told we are getting a new pilot (no Paul Reubens this trip-though he will appear somewhere) R2, C3PO, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, and podracing.
And okay, I couldn’t resist. The first appearance of our Mandalorian Mother F*cker!
