Legoland is a great place for kids. With the entire brand focusing on a core audience of kids ages 2 through 12, Legoland is able to focus on keeping kids entertained while also adding a little bit of an educational factor in on the experience. This coming weekend, on August 9th and 10th, Legoland will continue that as the Move It Movement will be coming to Legoland Florida.
The Move It Movement is a summertime traveling event that targets younger children ages 6 through 14, their parents. Move It Movement is hosted by Cartoon Network, which has partnered with the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports, and Nutrition in support of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! initative.
Kids and their parents can experience the following special activites this weekend during their visit to Legoland Florida.
-
NBA/WNBA FIT & NBA Hoop Troop — kids can demonstrate their fitness level by testing their basketball skills and shoot against the clock for prizes;
-
The PGA of America Driving Range — updated to reflect the new PGA Sports Academy and its goal of developing young social and competitive golfers, kids are invited to drive the ball for accuracy and distance with The PGA driving range. Top scores are posted on the PGA Sports Academy leaderboard;
-
NFL PLAY 60 — kids can practice a variety of football-themed activities, including running patterns and passing skills;
-
Subway® Fresh Fit for Kids™ Football Sled Challenge – At the challenge, kids can learn the importance of piling the veggies on their favorite Subway sandwich, as they push a custom Subway football sled across the finish line.
-
Let’s Move!/PALA+ booth — a station set aside specifically for registration materials, nutrition tips and further information promoting participation with Let’s Move! and the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award.
Each day, the first 500 guests to have their ‘passports’ completed at each of the Move It Mvoement stations will have the opportunity to win a pair of Move It Movement Sunglasses.
Legoland Florida will be open from 10am until 7pm on both Saturday and Sunday and The Legoland Florida Waterpark will be open from 10:30am until 6pm.
