No, it doesn’t charge at 1.21 Jiggawatts, but it will charge your phone with time to spare. Tons of new merchandise is rolling out just in time for the 30th anniversary of Back to the Future in 2015, and several are creating quite a buzz.
The all new phone charger replicates the famous Flux Capacitor from the Back to the Future films. The flux capacitor is what makes time travel possible. While it won’t give you the ability to travel in time it will rapidly charge up to two phones at once. When that baby hits 88 percent, you’re going to some serious…downloads.
The all new charger is available from ThinkGeek.com (click here!)
If you want to have a little more fun while rocking out the Back to the Future look, the you’ll want a pair of light up shoes from BTTF 2. Last year there a limited number of shoes from NIKE available, without power laces. Those were around $1,500 dollars and went quick. This pair is exclusively available at HalloweenCostumes.com and features lights, but no power laces and no Nike swoosh. Still, they look like fun. They will be available at the beginning of October and run about $100 dollars.
There’s also a slew of special figures, and collectibles coming, but Universal Studios Florida Has an all new Film Vault store which sells tons of BTTF merchandise, including shirts, vinyls and more. The park will also be celebrating 25 years in 2015, and should be doing something huge to celebrate the occasion. It’s possible we could see a massive tribute to the film, which was a groundbreaking attraction in the park until 2006, when it closed to make way for the Simpsons.
