Velvet Sessions at Universal Orlando’s Hard Rock Hotel is described as Orlando’s only Rock n Roll cocktail party. It combines great music with some of the most unique cocktails, right in the only place that it belongs. In the Hard Rock Hotel. Velvet Sessions is kicking off 2015 with a little southern fried rock as Jimmie Van Zandt will perform in the first sessions of the year.
On the last Thursday of every month, the Hard Rock Hotel Velvet Bar, and Lobby Lounge are transformed into an intimate, high-energy entertainment venue for “Velvet Sessions.” The event features a different band each month and includes complimentary cocktails , hors d’oeuvres and warm-up music starting at 6:30 pm.
This month, “Southern Man” and Florida Native Jimmie Van Zant takes over the lobby at the Hard Rock. Influenced by the music of his cousins Ronnie, Donnie and Johnny Van Zant and their bands Lynyrd Skynyrd and .38 Special, Jimmie Van Zant makes his mark in his legendary family with a soulful sound all his own.
He’ll be taking the stage at the Hard Rock Hotel on Thursday, January 29th to bring his signature style to Loews Hard Rock Hotel.
Tickets for Velvet Sessions are limited, and do sell out often. It’s best to book your tickets in advance. Tickets run $29 dollars in advance, or $35 dollars at the door. Guests can enjoy specialty drinks and finger food until showtime at 6:30. Afterwards, guests are invited to hang out in the lounge and continue the party. VIP tickets include a special viewing area, and a private bar, and run $50 dollars. Complimentary valet parking is also included.
