The biggest news so far is that Disney is launching the all new Star Wars Land at both Walt Disney World, and Disneyland. The new lands will be the largest expansion of Disney history. The all new land is still a few years away, however, but you’re not going to have to wait years until the new expansions to see new Star Wars adventures in the parks. They’re going to happen later this year, and it’s going to be part of the huge countdown until The Force Awakens! It’s all part of the promise to bring Star Wars to just about every park in the Disney collection.
Star Wars Launch Bay will be coming later this year, before the opening of Star Wars-The Force Awakens. The new shop will feature tons of Star Wars displays, merchandise and more. The new spot will be coming to both Disneyland, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida. In Disneyland, Launch Bay will share a building with a newly revamped Super Hero HQ. The new Super Hero HQ, will be the chance to meet Avengers like Captain America, and Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries.
At Hollywood Studios, the new Hangar Bay will be located in the Animation Courtyard.
Season of the Force will be a new seasonal event, beginning early 2016. It will bring new experiences to both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. In Tomorrowland at Disneyland park, guests will explore the Star Wars galaxy with special entertainment, new character meet and greets. There will also be new character experiences, as well as themed food, and limited time merchandise options. The centerpiece of the new celebration will be Hyperspace Mountain, which will turn Space Mountain into a battle of galactic proportions! The ride will get all new projections, sound effects, and music for the ride that puts you right into the middle of the battle between X-wings and Tie Fighters.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios will feature a new fireworks spectacular set to the iconic score of the Star Wars movies on weekend nights. New Character meet and greets will also take place at both parks.
Finally, Star Tours will see an all new adventure, which will see guests taken to a planet from The Force Awakens. It will join the existing films, and add even more adventures to your trip through the galaxy. It will also premiere later this year at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World!
The Jedi Training Academy will also be reimagined as young Padawans will come face to face with a new villain. The new villain will be from the Disney XD series, Star Wars Rebels.
It’s all coming to the parks this year!
