Disney has spent the past few days giving us a look at what’s coming to Walt Disney World this summer, and it’s extremely exciting! While there is something happening at every single Disney theme park in Orlando, the most exciting of it is happening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The park is going from a half day destination that takes up most of the morning, to an all day marathon that will take you into the night with tons of new offerings! One of the biggest is the Tree of Life. Also, Disney has announced when we can expect to see the nighttime fun!
There is so much happening this summer at Disney’s Animal Kingdom after the sun goes down. The park has a huge line up of great nighttime events (click here), all of which are starting really soon! There’s even a huge Jungle Book show that will have a very limited run this summer.
However, the iconic Tree of Life will be the biggest and boldest change as the centerpiece of the park gets lit up using lights, and projection mapping. The park will celebrate the magic of nature after dark, as the tree will “awaken” several times a night.

The Tree of Life is simply stunning, and it will honestly be a favorite with fans at the resort.
Disney’s official website is finally reflecting the later hours for the park. Beginning May 27th, the park will stay open until 11p.m. That’s likely to be later as the summer goes on.
We wouldn’t be surprised to see tech rehearsals start soon, and even see the park stay open a little later on certain nights.
