Sad news today out of Universal Orlando as the park had a ride technician die, while working on a ride. The name of the employee has not been released, and neither has the cause of death.
The technician died while working inside of Men in Black at Universal Studios Florida.
“This is sad news for all of us and we will do everything we can to take care of his family and our team members.”
Park officials said in a news release on Tuesday.
“We are not going to speculate about what happened – but we can say this has nothing to do with ride safety or the guest experience.”
Officials are working with authorities to figure out exactly what happened. No word on whether or not Men In Black’s operating schedule will be affected by a his tragedy or not.
Men in Black is a dark ride, shooting simulator, in which guests “zap” aliens with lasers. The ride is one of the most popular attractions in the park. This is the first such reported incident on the attraction.
Our thoughts and prayers go out with the family and friends.
