Sad news from London, as a possible terrorist incident has occurred at the Houses of Parliament in the heart of London and less than 2km (1.24mi) from London’s attractions, Big Ben and The Coca-Cola London Eye among others.
One woman has died and a number of others have been hurt – including some with “catastrophic” injuries – in the incident on Westminster Bridge, a junior doctor at St Thomas’ Hospital has said.
After the incident, the Coca-Cola London Eye was placed under lockdown with people currently being held on the Coca-Cola London Eye as a safety precaution. The Coca-Cola London Eye posted on to their Facebook:
There is an ongoing incident on Westminster Bridge and in the vicinity of the Palace of Westminster.
This is an ongoing incident and, as yet, we cannot provide any firm details as to what has transpired.
At present we are holding all of our guests within our attractions as per tried and tested security procedures.
The safety and security of our guests and staff will always be our number one priority.
