The summer is about to heat up as Disneyland is gearing up for something different this year. The park is unleashing the Summer of Heroes and it will feature first appearances of many of the characters in a Disney park. It will also feature the debut of the first Disney branded Marvel attraction in the United States.
In anticipation of the attraction, the park has released a new commercial showcasing the changes.
It is definitely weird to see Spiderman webbing through a Disney park. However, you have to love the energy of the whole thing.
Guardians of the Galaxy is going to be front and center this summer as the second movie comes out in just a few short weeks. Then a few short weeks after that, we will see the new version of Tower of Terror open with Mission:Breakout.
That’s not the only fun happening this summer, as Disneyland will also feature Black Widow, Captain America and Spiderman characters doing meet and greets. Also, this summer will mark the debut of the Groot meet and greet as well. This is the first appearance of Groot in any park.
Also this summer will be the return of Fantasmic! Rivers of America and an all new show “Disney Junior Dance Party”. The new show debuts Friday, May 26, at Disney California Adventure. Disney Junior characters from Disney Junior TV shows “Doc McStuffins,” “Sofia the First” and “The Lion Guard” will be joined by characters from the new series “Mickey and the Roadster Racers.”
