Universal Orlando’s onsite hotel roster is ever growing with a collection of amazing looking, luxurious and functional resorts. However, their newest addition is actually an expansion of an older favorite. Cabana Bay Beach Resort has just completed their two newest towers, which will add an additional 400 rooms to the total hotel room inventory. While that may not sound extremely exciting at first there are two huge features that make Cabana Bay a must stay resort.
The first is that many of the new rooms overlook the all new Volcano Bay. We aren’t just talking a great view of the park in the distance, that would be nice. No, we are talking a full on view of the park, so close that you could probably feel the waves coming off the wave pool.
Okay, maybe not THAT close, but you can definitely spend some watching the park from your hotel room. There are really great views of the new Volcano Bay…unfortunately we can’t show you the water park right now.
The second main feature is a brand new, two bedroom suite. The new suites sleep up to eight people and features two distinct bedrooms, an expanded sectional couch, a pullout sleeper, and two unique bathrooms. There are about twenty of the new suites in total.

Of the two bedrooms, there are one queen bed in the master, and two full beds in the smaller bedroom. The expanded kitchenette features a larger sink, microwave and refrigerator, and a bit more of an expanded living room area. There are televisions in every single room, which makes it really ideal for families looking for some down time.
The other really cool feature is that while the standard family suites features a separate shower and toilet area, this goes one step further and adds another complete bathroom. While there is still the separate toilet, and bathtub areas, the new bathrooms feature a walk in shower, and toilet all your own. Again, this makes it ideal for larger families, so that everyone can get ready at once.
Volcano Bay is really right next door, which makes the new towers prime real estate. The new towers are the closest hotel rooms to any of Universal Orlando’s theme parks. The decor in the tower reflects that with really amazing posters and themes all around the rooms. It really gets you excited for your journey into Volcano Bay. The poster above really needs to be sold either at the hotel, or in the park, because it really seems to capture the feel of the hotel and the park.
Like the other parts of Cabana Bay Resort, the new towers reflect perfectly the beachside hotels of the 60’s. While the older parts of the hotel reflects late 50’s, early 60’s, the new towers reflect the later 60’s, and it’s really apparent in the decor.
Guests staying in the new towers also have access to the rest of Cabana Bay, including the amazing pools and lazy river. Guests can also dine in the two restaurants, use the bowling alley, and the Jack LaLane Fitness Center.
Prices on the new rooms will average about $500 dollars a night, but that also depends on the time of year you book your room, as well as additional discounts like passholder and Florida resident rates. Like the rest of Cabana Bay, guests will be able to get early access to the Universal parks, including the all new Volcano Bay, beginning Friday May 26th.
