The holidays are bigger than ever at Universal Orlando as the park gets ready to roll out an all new, huge offerings across the Resort. From all new Christmas magic in the Wizarding World to new hotel offerings, Universal is doing Christmas big. The biggest piece of the holidays at Universal has always been the huge Macy’s Day Parade. This year the Parade has been revamped and updated, and today we have a few more huge details about it.
First, this new Parade is distinctly Universal. While there will be some favorite moments from Macy’s, designed especially for Universal Orlando, it’s a completely new party.
First there are 15 huge floats, each one intricately detailed and full of characters, lights and music. Santa will be coming to town (above) with his reindeer and elves. The float will glisten and shine with lights and decorations.
Bob and the rest of the Minions from Despicable Me are also chasing the holidays, bringing holiday cheer and of course the chaos that only the Minions can bring.
King Julien takes over for Santa Claus as the gang from Madagascar take over, and brings all kinds of holiday cheer.
Shrek, Fiona and Donkey celebrate in the swamp as the dronkeys fly overhead. The dronkeys are brought life with two huge new balloons.
Speaking of Balloons, there are 16 huge balloons in the parade, with 13 of them created exclusively for Universal Orlando by Macy’s.
Cap that off with an all new score, over 100 performers and snow and you have a recipe for one of the merriest Christmases ever.
The fun kicks off this Friday, November 18th and runs daily until January 6th.
