runDisney offers a number of different races throughout the year, including the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, Princess Half Marathon Weekend, Star Wars Rival Run Weekend, and the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend. In addition to big race weekends at Walt Disney World, Disney offers Virtual 5k Races which allows people to do their races at the place and time of their choosing.
runDisney announced the theme to this year’s Virtual Series is themed to Marvel, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. While the series has an overall Marvel theme, each 5k has a different character that coincides with the overall theme. The themes include: Captain Marvel for the month of June, Iron Man for the month of July, and Black Panther for the month of August. Those who register and complete each 5k will receive an additional challenge medal.
Marvel also revealed a first look at the medal for the August virtual 5k which will be themed to Black Panther. Take a look at this stunning Black Panther medal:
Participants for each 5k will receive a downloadable race bib, a downloadable finisher certificate, and a commemorative finisher medal. Challenge finishers (must sign up for the challenge) will also receive an additional challenge medal.
The cost of each individual 5k is $40 while the cost of the challenge is $145.
