Over the past several years, SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. (SEAS) has been investing heavily in their water parks, with yearly additions ranging from new water slides, to new and renovated food and beverage locations. It looks like 2023 will be no exception, as Adventure Island has another new addition planned!
Codenamed “Project Paradise”, we first saw the permit filed in early September. Details were scarce at the time, but the permit listed the size of the project at roughly 25,000 square feet and valued
it at $2 million.
New documents added to the permit on October 24 have shed new light on the project, revealing it will be an overhaul of the existing Fabian’s Funport Splash Pad and surrounding area. The plans call for a
demolition of the existing area and the addition of an all-new splash pad as well as new cabanas,
hardscape and landscaping.
As you can see from the plan sheets above, the renovated area will feature a new central play structure
as well as a variety of new water play features. The surrounding hardscape is also being completely re-
done and will feature new loungers and cabanas. It’s great to see continued investment in Adventure
Island, and we’re definitely excited to see more areas of the park get refreshed like this.
