The PEANUTS Celebration at Knott’s Berry Farm has taken over the park! This family-friendly event runs now through February 26. There are PEANUTS-themed activities all over the park, from the Birdcage Theater to Camp Snoopy.
At the Calico Mine Stage, the PEANUTS characters will perform the musical game show It’s Your Life, Charlie Brown, with the loveable title character getting the surprise of his life. At nightfall, the stage will transform into a musical as the park hosts Snoopy’s Legendary Rooftop Concert. The Calico Mine Stage is the perfect place to grab some food from the nearby Prop Shop Pizzeria and watch a show. During the PEANUTS Celebration, the pizzeria features event-specific pizzas at select restaurants around the park. Our favorites include the Mexican Street Corn and Bacon Pizza and the Carnitas, Pineapple, Bacon and Jalapeno Pizza with Cilantro. The specialty pizzas are very unique compared to the restaurant’s usual offerings and are a must-try when visiting the park during this season.
Other PEANUTS-inspired festivities take place at the Bird Cage Theatre as the park offers an experience that gives both the young and the young at heart a lesson on how to draw their favorite PEANUTS characters. Also in BirdCage Theatre is Charlie Brown’s Trivia Challenge where guests test their knowledge with PEANUTS universe questions and eye-popping visual challenges. At Calico’s Town Hall, guests will be seeing stars with the exhibition The Moon: Snoopy Soars with NASA featuring the world’s most famous beagle and his long relationship with our nation’s space administration. Venture into Camp Snoopy, where theCamp Snoopy Theater will feature the Music Goes ‘Round and Around or hop aboard the Grand Sierra Railroad to travel with the PEANUTS Gang to the Beagle Bonanza in this fun ride overlay.
The Grizzly Creek Restaurant in Camp Snoopy features the Chipotle Chicken Toastie Sandwich with Tomatoes along with the Mexican Street Corn and Bacon Pizza (pictured above). In addition, Wagon Wheel Pizza in Ghost Town features a unique Carnitas, Pineapple, Bacon and Jalapeno Double Stuffed Baked Potato that has an amazing complement of both sweet and spicy flavors.
The celebration doesn’t stop there! A western escapade occurs at Calico Park with Franklin and Linus as they transform into cowboys in the PEANUTS Cowboy Jamboree. Also in Ghost Town is Pigpen’s PigPen, where everyone’s favorite messy pal will be joining the rest of the PEANUTS Gang as he hosts a special meetup at the Livery Stables with some of his animal friends. More musical enjoyment can be found at Boardwalk BBQ, where guests can grab a seat (and a plate!) to enjoy the smooth sounds of The James Street Trio that will transport them to the hometown of the PEANUTS Gang with this tribute to the music of Vince Guaraldi.
Overall, we highly recommend visiting the Knott’s PEANUTS Celebration if your children enjoy the PEANUTS characters. It’s a perfect time to visit while crowds are relatively light and there are plenty of offerings for all ages. You can watch shows, take pictures with your favorite characters, or enjoy the fun rides in Camp Snoopy. This is definitely a fun event at one of the best theme parks in Southern California.
