One of the best parts about staying on location at Universal is being able to participate in all of the on site events at the hotels. Portifino Bay has ‘Musica Della Notte’; a celebration of Italian Opera, The Hard Rock Hotel has their monthly “Velvet Sessions” concerts in the lobby, and all of the hotels have “dive in movies” at their amazing pools. One of the more unknown foodie events that takes place is the Beer Pairing Dinners that occur monthly at Jake’s American Bar located in the Royal Pacific Resort. While this is a great vacation treat, it’s also great for locals.
Every few months, for one night only the 1930’s travel themed Jake’s American Bar at the Royal Pacific embarks on a culinary journey for pairing a unique, four course dinner with craft beer. Each event sees an all new menu, paired with an all new beer.
This Friday, Jake’s will be pairing its American food with the Canadian brewery Unibroue. Unibroue is a very respected brewery, known for their golden ale La Fin du Monde.

Jakes Beer Dinner is not included with your hotel stay, but you are also not required to have a reservation at the Loews Royal Pacific to attend either. The cost is $57 dollars plus tax, and includes gratuity, parking fees and of course your meal and drink pairings.
It’s a tasty way to try new beers, and find a great food to pair it with.
If you miss this month, there will be others in March, May, June, and July. In October, the dinner is replaced with a larger beer festival. However, why wait two months to experience great food paired with uniquely crafted beer?
