After many months of delay and a temporary show, Walt Disney World resort today started selling Dinner Packages for Rivers of Light at Animal Kingdom for February 17.

It appears that Riversof Light is starting technical rehearsals, as not only is it listed on the website, but FastPass reservations are also available. The first one is tonight, and as you can see, we’ve booked. We will be back tomorrow with a full report and hopefully a few pictures and videos.
Rivers of Light was originally due to open last summer during the memorial day weekend however, the show was plagued with delays that ultimately had Walt Disney World introducing a temporary show, “The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic” which ultimately ran throughout the summer. Since then there hasn’t been any new information that was substantial enough to give an official opening date for Rivers of Light – that is until today.
Walt Disney World Resort started selling dining packages for Rivers of Light this morning at Tiffins and Tusker House Restaurant. Rivers of Light will begin performances on February 17th with just one show per night at 7:15PM. The show will be presented once nightly only on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays until April 8th, when it then becomes a nightly offering according to the available dining packages.
Here is what included in each Rivers of Light Dining Package:
- A meal from one of 2 participating restaurants, plus a non-alcoholic beverage
- Premium seating for Rivers of Light show
Tusker House Restaurant:
- Graze on a bountiful buffet brimming with African flavors at Tusker House Restaurant in Harambe. Please note: While this dining package is available for all meal periods, Guests must arrive to dine no later than 2 hours and thirty minutes prior to showtime.

- Breakfast, starting at:
$39.00 adults/$23.00 children ages 3 to 9 - Lunch/Dinner, starting at:
$52.00 adults/$32.00 children ages 3 to 9
Tiffin’s
- Trek to Tiffins where you’ll savor your choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert from a menu featuring mouthwatering delights from around the globe. Please note: While this dining package is available for both lunch and dinner periods, Guests must arrive to dine no later than 3 hours prior to showtime.

$67.00 adults/$26 children ages 3 to 9
You receive your voucher for Rivers of Light package seating at the time of your meal. Fastpass is also now available for Rivers of Lights starting next Friday as well.
