Hot off the news of the new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction opening up the 5 Freeway, Universal Studios Hollywood has a trick of their own. Tonight guests of the park were shown a preview showing of the brand new projection show on Hogwarts Castle inside the Wizarding World.
This marks the first time a projection mapping show (not counting grand opening ceremonies) has been used within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in the US. The show barrows heavily from imagery first seen during the Grand Opening ceremony for the Wizarding World Hollywood. The park had a custom show made to highlight the 4 houses of Hogwarts, this new show expands upon that concept and now features The Sorting Hat as a narrator. The new show also features a brand new score of Harry Potter themes arranged by John Williams and the London Symphony Orchestra specifically for this new show in Hollywood.
EonCloud on Youtube posted a 3 minute clip of the show. (the show runs about 5-6 minutes)
A Christmas show was also announced for Universal Orlando to debut this holiday season. It’s no known yet if the Christmas show will be shown in Hollywood, or the NightTime Lights show will be shown in Orlando, but it’s safe to assume that we have a lot of great new things coming to the Wizarding World in the near future. Nighttime Lights officially opens on June 23rd at Universal Studios Hollywood
