Today, Walt Disney World has revealed a first look at their all new NBA Experience, as well as an opening date for the brand new experience coming to Disney Springs. The new NBA Experience will combine a one of a kind restaurant, and entertainment venue. The new experience replaces DisneyQuest, which closed at the end of last year.
NBA President, Global Partnerships Sal LaRocca, recently commented on the project, sharing, “This one-of-a-kind experience is sure to be enjoyed by basketball and Disney fans of all ages who visit Disney Springs from around the world.”
The concept art showcases the exterior of the venue, and will use the design of the latest NBA Stadiums. The outside of the venue seems to use giant screens and lights which will more than likely show the latest NBA games, and highlights of past seasons.
“We are inspired by the design of the new building and the energy that it will bring to the West Side of Disney Springs,” said Senior Vice President of Disney Springs and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Maribeth Bisienere.
The new venue will open in the summer of 2019 and will include a restaurant, games and more interactive experiences. More details will be shared as construction continues and the former DisneyQuest site undergoes it’s transformation.
Disney Springs will see another long time resident leave at the end of this year, as Cirque Du Soleil-La Nouba comes to a close. It will leave just House of Blues and a few shops at the West Side of Disney Springs. The NBA also had a similar restaurant at Universal Orlando with NBA City. The Basketball themed restaurant was rarely busy and was replaced in 2016 by Toothsome’s Chocolate Emporium.
