Universal Studios Hollywood to host new New Year’s ‘EVE’ Celebration

Theme parks in Southern California are a hugely popular place for friends and family to congregate and celebrate New Year’s Eve. Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm are the currently the two biggest events for counting down to the new year in SoCal. Ironically in years past Universal Studios (the fastest growing theme park in SoCal) is traditionally quiet. Every few years the theme park will host a New Years celebration of some sort, then have to stop for following years due to construction reasons. The last time there was a major New Years was in 2014 which consisted of low level firework shows held at the WaterWorld theater and within Universal Plaza. Well this year, without the hindrance of major construction Universal Studios Hollywood will host ‘EVE’ a massive new celebration.

Universal Studios Hollywood rings in 2018 with Hollywood’s biggest New Year’s Eve celebration, EVE, on Sunday, December 31, 2017, with extended theme park hours to 1:00 a.m.

The New Year’s Eve event, the first ever for Universal Studios Hollywood, is included in the price of theme park admission and invites guests to spend the day and night enjoying its many popular rides and attractions with a special park-wide countdown party featuring multiple entertainment hubs with DJs and live music, starting at 9:00 p.m.

Universal Plaza, Simpsons Plaza located adjacent to “The Simpsons Ride” and an area near “Jurassic Park—The Ride” will transform into three uniquely-themed electrifying party hubs that will culminate simultaneously at midnight with a traditional New Year countdown and a spectacular fireworks display. Food and beverages, including specialty desserts, champagne, beer and wine, as well as 2018 memorabilia will be available for purchase.

While fans from Universal Orlando may recognize the logo and the branding, that’s about as far as the similarities between the two coasts go. Unlike Orlando which is an upcharge event, the Hollywood event is included with a general admission ticket for December 31, 2017. You can surely expect the park to sell out that day.
