On January 4th, Disney’s newest cruise shipped arrived at the port in Port Canaveral. Today Disney christened this new ship with a dream filled celebration. Around 3,000 attended today’s event, including celebrities, members of the press, and the general public.
The Disney Dream has tons on innovative “wows”. The ship includes an art gallery that comes to live, the first water coaster ever aboard a cruise ship, Portholes that have inside staterooms with a “real-time” view of the big blue sea, Shipboard fireworks, and more.
“For over a decade, Disney Cruise Line has been making vacation dreams come true for millions of families and we continue that tradition today with the launch of the Disney Dream,” Iger said. “The mix of imagination and innovation found on the Disney Dream is unparalleled and elevates the family cruise experience to new heights.”
Iger and Jennifer Hudson, Academy Award winner, stood on stage as an enormous bottle of champagne filled with dreams of adventure was sky lifted and broken across the bow of the Disney Dream.
The Disney Dream will set sail on January 26th. During 2011, the Dream will sail to the Bahamas and Castaway Cay. The Dream has three, four, and five night itineraries available for these destinations.
